BSER Committee Positions 2026
The following positions on the BSER committee are open to applications. Please submit a short paragraph about yourself and what you would bring to the role. Details of each role are listed below. All applicants should have a passion for emergency radiology, education and have good team working skills. Applications close Friday December 19th 2025 and successful applicants will be notified in early January 2026. Submissions and enquires to info@bser.org. 2026 Conference Lead
Open to Consultant Radiologists.
We are looking for an individual or group of Radiologists who would like to champion their region to host the BSER 2026 conference. With the help of the BSER team the successful candidate/team will secure a venue and arrange the educational and social programme for the conference. If you are interested in hosting but feel 2026 is too soon, we would be happy to hear from you and plan for further events in the future.
Educational Lead
Open to Consultant Radiologists.
This position will predominantly involve developing our webinar programme and other online teaching material, finding speakers and ensuring a wide variety of topics are covered throughout the year. This role will also come with speaking opportunities at external conferences (typically UKIO, RCR and SRT).
Outsourcing Liaison
Open to Consultant Radiologists who undertake work with outsourcing companies.
BSER recognises the expanding use of outsourcing in providing emergency radiology services and therefore the vast experience of those working for outsourcing companies as a teaching resource. We are looking for a consultant with good links to outsourcing companies to help develop combined teaching material and also harbour good sponsorship relationships for future conferences.
General Consultant Member
Open to Consultant Radiologists.
We are looking to expand the number of consultants of our committee to help in a variety of roles. This could include educational events, speaking at conferences, contributing to guidelines and beyond. We are looking for enthusiastic consultants who would like to gain experience of a national society committee.
Junior IT Lead
Open to all.
This role will involve working closely with our IT Lead (Dr Sai Chow) to ensure smooth running of our website, webinars, email account and conferences. Applicants should have a good foundation of IT skills, in particular be familiar with MS Teams, Power Point and Google Mail. Ideally applicants should have some knowledge of website management using WIX or be willing to learn these skills.
Junior Committee Member
Open to all.
We are looking to expand our junior committee to help in a variety of roles. This could include educational events, roles in conference organising, contributing to guidelines and beyond. We are looking for enthusiastic trainees (either currently in radiology training or other junior doctors) who would like to gain experience of a national society committee.
Medical Student Representative
Open to UK medical students.
BSER recognises the inconsistency of radiology exposure in medical education across the country. We are looking for enthusiastic medical students to champion emergency radiology and help develop educations sessions aimed at medical students to improve their knowledge of radiology and improve the visibility of the speciality to medical students.
