We are very excited to announce that our upcoming BSER 2025 in-person conference will be held in Double Tree by Hilton, Hull, on 17th and 18th November 2025.
This year's theme will be Resilience in the Rush: Advancing Emergency Radiology.
We welcome all, including consultants, registrars, fellows, emergency clinicians and allied healthcare professionals who wish to broaden and deepen their knowledge in emergency imaging.

The deadline for submission is 8th September 2025.
We accept QIP/Audits, Case Reports, Educational/Pictorial Reviews, Research.
Please email your submission to info@bser.org . No encore abstracts permitted. All submissions must be in English and in PDF. Maximum abstract word limit 250 (not including section titles, authors, references)
By submitting an abstract, the authors confirm that the abstract is their own original work, is not defamatory or unlawful, and does not infringe on anyone else’s rights.
By submitting an abstract, you are confirming on behalf of the co-authors that this is your own original work and that you have approval from the co-authors to submit. Should your abstract be accepted, you agree to the publication of your poster on our platforms and BSER website. You also agree to your poster and abstract being judged/shared before and on the day of the conference.
There is no limit on number of submissions per author.
If your abstract is accepted for poster presentation, the submitter or a co-author must register and attend the event in order to receive a certificate. Certificates will not be provided to co-authors who do not attend the conference.

Please inform us if you are no longer able to attend by emailing us. Registration fees will only be refunded, less £30.00 administration fee, for written cancellations received prior to 1st September 2025. Refunds will not be made for cancellations received after this date, but names substitutions will be allowed at any time. Please note that any refunds due will be paid after the conference has taken place.
All best endeavors will be made to present the programme as above. However, we reserve the right to alter or cancel, without prior notice, any of the arrangements, timetables or plans relating directly or indirectly to the conference, for any cause beyond their reasonable control. The Conference Organisers are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such alterations. Speakers:
Dr. Ghina Berjawi:
Dr. Ghina Berjawi graduated with an MD from the American University of Beirut and completed her radiology training at AUBMC in 2000. She pursued fellowships in Breast Imaging in London, UK, and in Imaging and Interventional Radiology of the Female Genital Tract in Limoges, France. Dr. Berjawi currently serves as Chairperson of the Radiology Department and Director of the Mamdouha Bobst Breast Unit at AUBMC. She is actively engaged in research in breast and women’s imaging, particularly in the integration of artificial intelligence. A project board member of the AIM program, she is currently leading research on contrast-enhanced mammography in breast cancer detection.​

Dr Ramachandra Chittal, Consultant Thoracic Radiologist, Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust:
Ram is passionate about "learning from errors." He is one of the founding members of the READ project at the RCR (now REAL). Since its inception, he has contributed to its growth under various chairs.
He organises a weekly online teaching session titled "Lifelong Learning in Radiology," focused on learning from errors and related challenging topics, with the aim of improving trainee engagement early in their careers. Trainees from 10–15 schemes across the UK attend these sessions.
Ram is keen to foster global collaboration on learning from errors to benefit everyone. He has worked with international partners and has organised REAL meetings outside the UK to share these concepts.

Professor Elizabeth Dick, BSc, MBBS, MRCP, FRCR, MD, EDER:
Professor Elizabeth Dick is a Consultant Radiologist and Professor of Practice at Imperial College NHS Trust with expertise in Body MRI, Emergency, Trauma and MSK Radiology, subjects upon which she regularly publishes and lectures nationally and internationally. She completed a Fellowship in Body MRI; earning her doctoral degree at Imperial College, as well as an MSK Fellowship at Duke University, North Carolina.
At Imperial College Healthcare Trust she was Head of Trauma Radiology and is Associate Director of Medical Education responsible for Faculty Development and Widening Access to Medicine. She has published several books and set up and taught on numerous worldwide postgraduate courses to medical and paramedical specialists. She was Visiting Professor at the University of Sydney (2019-20). She is Past President of the British Society of Emergency Radiology and of the European Society of Emergency Radiology.

Dr. Rita Khattar:
Dr. Rita Khattar is a final-year Diagnostic Radiology resident at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), where she currently serves as President of the Residents’ Society Organization. She holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from the Lebanese American University, graduating with high distinction. Her clinical interests include trauma, body, and emergency imaging. She has completed rotations in these areas at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Baylor College of Medicine, and will begin a Body Imaging Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City in July 2026. Dr. Khattar is active in medical education and outreach efforts across Lebanon and the Middle East, mentoring trainees and supporting public health initiatives, with a focus on advancing radiology in emergency care.

​Dr Hannah Perry:
​Dr Hannah Perry has been a radiology trainee in Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since 2017, training less than full time. She is the LTFT representative for doctors in training at HUTH, and is about to embark on her final year in training with a specialist interest in cardiothoracic imaging.

Dr Aubrey Smith:
Dr Aubrey Smith is a Consultant Interventional Neuroradiologist at North Bristol NHS Trust, providing diagnostic services and minimally invasive treatments affecting the brain and the spine.
Dr Smith has attained his MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons England before gaining his FRCR through an Academic Clinical Fellowship at Hull University Hospitals. He trained through the Pan-Yorkshire fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology; gaining experience in haemorrhagic and stroke pathology, vertebroplasty and pain management at three of the largest Neuroscience centres in Northern England - Leeds, Hull and Sheffield.
Dr Smith has a postgraduate diploma in research training and has led multiple research projects, presenting nationally and internationally. He is passionate about training and education, having organised national training courses in stroke treatment. Dr Smith was previously appointed as Deputy Training Programme Director for Radiology in East Yorkshire and currently holds the position of Chair of the Training, Education and Research Committee at the UK Neurovascular Group.

​Dr Vikas Shah (MRCP FRCR):
Dr Vikas Shah (MRCP FRCR) is a Consultant Radiologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester and Lead for Undergraduate Radiology at the University of Leicester. He is one of the Managing Editors of Radiopaedia and helps organise its annual global conference. His clinical practice focuses on abdominal, emergency, and post-mortem imaging. Vikas has a strong interest in radiology education, with a particular passion for using social media and technology to deliver accessible, engaging, high-impact learning experiences for a global audience. Dr Chris Srinivasan:
Chris is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Hull Royal Infirmary with a specialist interest in front door Critical Care and Major Trauma. For 15 years he has worked as a Prehospital Emergency Medicine doctor in Motorsport and for Yorkshire Ambulance Service BASICS. He has worked for Yorkshire Air Ambulance as a HEMS doctor since 2016, experiencing a wide range of trauma systems and keen to bring excellence in care for major trauma patients. Chris has a specific interest in delivering simulation training for the Code Red Trauma team to improve multidisciplinary care and expedite imaging to allow progression to definitive care.
